Project Overview
Starting Strong in Chandler
KGM Builders broke ground on a new 50,000-square-foot event center for Seton Catholic Preparatory in April 2025. The two-story facility will bring modern amenities and much-needed capacity to one of the region’s growing private high schools.
Challenges Encountered: Because the facility will serve both daily school needs and large-scale events, planning required close coordination across multiple user groups. Balancing long-term durability with everyday accessibility meant selecting materials, layouts, and systems that could scale with the school’s future. Integrating construction work within an active campus also required clear communication and tight phasing to avoid disrupting student life.
Improvement Initiatives: The event center includes a new main lobby, concession areas, training rooms, spin and film rooms, a sound booth, and a catering prep kitchen. Work on McMahon Gymnasium adds an expanded cheer room, enhanced wrestling facilities, upgraded locker rooms, and a full air conditioning system already in use. The result will be a dynamic hub for student activities, athletics, and school-wide gatherings.
In addition to the new building, the project includes extensive updates to the existing McMahon Gymnasium, expanding and upgrading multiple athletic spaces to meet current and future demand.
