Project Overview
Building Up from a Strong Foundation
KGM Builders continues progress on the new 50,000 square foot event center at Seton Catholic Preparatory, with Phase Three focused on bringing the structure above grade. Following demolition and site preparation, crews have transitioned into block wall construction, structural framing, and roof system installation.
This phase represents a major step forward in the build. Exterior walls are going up, interior spaces are beginning to take form, and the overall footprint of the facility is now clearly defined. Work completed in earlier phases has positioned the project to move efficiently into vertical construction while maintaining coordination across an active school campus.
Progress with Purpose
KGM Builders is leading the expansion of Seton Catholic Preparatory’s campus with a focus on coordination, sequencing, and long-term performance. Each phase of the project builds on the last, ensuring the site remains safe, functional, and ready for what comes next.
Working alongside key trade partners across concrete, masonry, electrical, and steel, the team continues to advance the project with careful planning and execution. From early site work to structural development, every step is aligned with the school’s operational needs and long-term vision.
Challenges Encountered: Working within an active school environment required precise coordination and communication with administration to ensure student safety and minimize disruption. Maintaining continuous traffic flow during student drop-off presented an ongoing logistical challenge. Additionally, the existing fire protection line had to be rerouted around the demolition area while completing the new fire line on the east side of the pad—without interfering with daily campus operations.
Improvement Initiatives: Our team implemented phased construction sequencing to keep critical areas open and safe. We relocated and rerouted the fire line to maintain full functionality, constructed a satellite parking area adding 40 new spaces, and installed a new staircase that will ultimately connect to the future event center. Temporary weather protection was added to safeguard the existing gymnasium during roof and lobby demolition. Subgrade preparation, footer installation, and drainage improvements—including a new drywell on the west side—have prepared the site for vertical construction in early 2026.

Progress You Can See
With vertical construction underway, the transformation of the site is now fully visible. Structural walls, framing, and building lines are defining the space in real time, offering a clear view of how the facility is coming together.
From above, the coordination behind the build becomes even more apparent. Layout, access, and sequencing are all working in sync as the project continues to move forward.

With the site prepared, Phase Three marks the transition into vertical construction. Crews are installing block walls, setting roof trusses, and beginning to define both the exterior and interior structure of the facility.
This phase brings the project into clear view, as the building footprint becomes a physical structure on site.

On April 30, 2025, KGM Builders broke ground on the new event center at Seton Catholic Preparatory. This milestone marked the official start of the project and set the foundation for future development on campus.
In April 2025, KGM Builders broke ground on the new Seton Catholic Event Center, marking the official start of one of the most significant projects in the company’s history. The 50,000 square foot, two story facility is designed to expand athletic programs, support student life, and create a flexible gathering space for the broader campus community.
Phase Two — Site Preparation and Demolition
Phase Two focused on clearing the way for construction. Existing structures were removed, utilities were rerouted, and critical site infrastructure was put in place to support the next stage of the build. With demolition and preparation complete, the project was positioned to move from groundwork into vertical construction.
