Modernizing Spaces with Purpose
KGM Builders partnered with St. Mary’s Basilica ⧉ to renovate and upgrade key residential and communal spaces on the property. This project included a full remodel of apartment units, bathrooms, shared gathering areas, and the parish suites used by the clergy.
The scope combined modern amenities with practical upgrades, while respecting the character of the site. Construction commenced in October 2023 and was completed in December 2024, resulting in a renewed environment that supports both daily living and community connection.
Challenges Encountered:
The team faced tight working conditions during HVAC and fire line installation, especially in areas where space was limited. Tapping into the city water main beneath the street added another layer of coordination. Designing a tankless water heating system that met code while supporting the building’s needs also required close collaboration across trades.
Improvement Initiatives:
Renovations included modernizing all apartment units, upgrading bathrooms with barn-style doors, and remodeling the parish suites for priest housing. A new shared laundry space and a fully updated rec room were added, along with a kitchen outfitted with high-end appliances. These upgrades were designed to bring greater comfort and convenience to both residents and clergy.
